To generally calculated numerical values and find them for a purpose. Example a simple calculator it has multiple variable which it performs an action on.

What do the terms procedural and object-oriented mean when referring to programming languages?

List as many different programming languages that you can find out about. Give descriptions of 3 of them and how they are unique.

What do the terms procedural and object-oriented mean when referring to programming languages?

1.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphabetical_list_of_programming_languages

Have fun.

Another I would like to mention is JASS. JASS is a programming language made for a game by Blizzard Entertainment, Warcraft 3.

Descriptions of 3: starting with JASS

JASS is unique because, unlike the vast majority of programming languages, it is made purely for usage in a game (WC3). It is an event-driven, block structured, procedural language, and is used by map editors/makers to create triggers/objects for a certain map in the World Editor program. It has a syntax similar to Turing and Delphi, but it is case sensitive.

Another programming language is C. C is a general-purpose, block structured, procedural, imperative computer programming language. C was designed to be a system implementation language, but it is widely used for applications. C has facilities for structured programming and allows lexical variable scope and recursion, while a static type system prevents many unintended operations. In C, all executable code is contained within functions. C program source text is free-format, using semicolon as a statement terminator.

The last programming language I’ll use as an example is Python. Python is a high-level programming language. It is designed over readability and the importance of programmer effort rather than computer effort. Python is a multi-paradigm programming language (object oriented and imperative) which has a dynamic type system and uses automatic memory management.

2.

Procedural programming is sometimes used as a synonym for imperative programming, and refers to a language that specifies the steps the program must take to reach a desired state. Procedures are also known as routines, subroutines, functions and methods, and they simply contain a series of steps to be carried out by a program.

Object-oriented describes a programming language that is…. object-oriented. Object-oriented languages use objects and their interactions to design applications and programs.

1: A computer file is essentially a way of storing data, it is a resource used to store data. Files are able to be accessed by a computer programme. They are made to be saved and opened. Files are basically a sequence of binary digits and needs translating. Files always have a size, this is expressed in bytes. Files are an example of data structures. The way in which files store data determines the file size.

All of which can sometimes be interpreted by one programme. Not every programming language can support array programming. Each element in most programming languages has the same data type. To read an array of data a programme chooses which parts of the data it wants to access instead of reading and using it all. Most programmes are able to read arrays.
