System software hardware support: The hardware support is the microchips in the processor which runs the programs for you and lets you go where you want, an example of this is the monitor.

Data access control: Data access control is what decides where things go on the hard drive, it knows where it has put some things and then uses that infornmation to store other files.

Usage records: Show a record of what you have done on the computer, such as internet cookies which show what you have visited on the internet.

Resource management: Manages the resources on the computer such as microsoft word and allocates space for them and keeps them managed well. lol.

Security: Runs checks on viruses, trojans and the like, tries to prevent your computer from being damaged by outsiders. Virus scanners are an example of security on your computer.
